What it is
Event contracts on sports, economic data and other outcomes, offered through a CFTC-regulated futures commission merchant license. In January 2026 a Robinhood-led joint venture with Susquehanna acquired 90% of MIAXdx, a Miami derivatives exchange renamed Rothera. Rothera operates as a Designated Contract Market and Derivatives Clearing Organization and launched its own trading in June 2026.
Why it matters to the stock. Event contracts became Robinhood's fastest-growing transaction line in 2026. Owning the exchange and clearing keeps fees in-house rather than paying them to third-party venues.
