Alibaba unveils Zhenwu M890 AI chip, claims 3x the predecessor

T-Head, Alibaba's chip unit, unveiled the Zhenwu M890 AI accelerator, which Alibaba says delivers three times the performance of the Zhenwu 810E. The chip is aimed at AI agent workloads and is positioned as a domestic alternative to Nvidia processors under US export curbs. Alibaba also set a roadmap of the V900 in the third quarter of 2027 and the J900 in the third quarter of 2028.
