S&P Dow Jones Indices adds Sandisk to the S&P 100, effective September 21

S&P Dow Jones Indices announced on September 4, 2026 that Sandisk will join the S&P 100, replacing Colgate-Palmolive before the open on September 21. Index funds and benchmark-aware managers had to buy the stock at the change, so the addition is a mechanical demand event for the shares. It came in the same announcement as the S&P 500 additions of Bloom Energy, Illumina and Everpure.
