SoftBank raises its margin loan backed by Arm shares to $25 billion

SoftBank Group raised its margin loan secured by its Arm shares by $5 billion to $25 billion, according to Bloomberg on September 18, 2026. Arm's 20-F says the facility is initially secured by 769,029,000 Arm shares, or 72.0% of the company, while SoftBank owns about 86.4%. For traders, the loan adds leverage to the main holder's position, and a sharp fall in Arm's share price could force collateral calls.
