Lumentum shows 1.6T DR4 module prototype and 800 mW laser at OFC 2026
At OFC 2026 Lumentum showed a 1.6T DR4 OSFP transceiver prototype built from four 400G EML lasers, positioned as a step toward a future 3.2T module. It also demonstrated an 800 mW super-high-power 1310 nm laser aimed at co-packaged optics and silicon photonics, and a 16-channel DWDM ultra-high-power laser source for CPO designs. These are demonstrations, and the release gives no revenue or timing figures for them.
- 1.6T DR4 OSFP prototype: four 400G differential EML lasers, 4x400G over single-mode fiber.
- 800 mW super-high-power laser at 1310 nm; over 1.0 W at 25 C and over 800 mW at 50 C.
- 16-channel DWDM ultra-high-power laser for CPO, using two ELSFP modules on a 200 GHz grid.
- Also shown: multi-rail coherent optical channel monitors, tunable laser assemblies and a dynamic gain equalizer.
