Sandisk stock falls 47% in July, its worst month since the 2025 listing

Sandisk shares dropped 47% in July 2026, erasing more than $150 billion of market value. Motley Fool attributed the decline to a broad selloff in memory and AI infrastructure stocks, driven by worries that hyperscalers were overspending on capital expenditure and by SK hynix missing profit estimates in its first earnings report since its U.S. listing. The stock still ranked as the best S&P 500 performer of 2026 to that point.

  • July 2026 decline: 47%
  • Market value erased: more than $150 billion
  • Worst month since Sandisk began trading in February 2025
  • Shares still up about 501% year to date after the drop
