IonQ reports quantum memory-enhanced interconnect at over 1,000 entanglement events per second
IonQ reported a photonic link between a trapped-ion system and a silicon-vacancy quantum memory that produced more than 1,000 entanglement events per second. The company says this is over four times the previous trapped-ion record. The work was done with Duke University's Chris Monroe group, and the release quotes SkyWater's quantum technology lead. It is a research demonstration, not a product release.
- More than 1,000 entanglement events per second between a trapped ion and a solid-state memory
- Over four times the previous trapped-ion record, per IonQ
- Collaboration with Duke University's Chris Monroe research group
- Fidelity and link distance not reported for this demonstration
