Apple and Google agree to base next Apple Foundation Models on Gemini

Apple and Google said in a joint statement that Apple's next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be built on Google's Gemini models and cloud technology under a multi-year agreement. Apple Intelligence will keep running on Apple devices and Private Cloud Compute, and the companies expect a more personalized Siri in 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
