Meta settles first federal school-district bellwether case, Breathitt County (Ky.)

Meta settled the Breathitt County School District case in Kentucky, the first federal school-district bellwether in the social media addiction litigation, as reported on May 24, 2026. The district had sought more than $60 million, and the June trial will not go ahead. Settlement terms are confidential, and co-defendants also settled earlier in May.
