EIA reports 360 Bcf storage draw in week ending January 30 as Henry Hub spot hits $9.03

US working gas fell by 360 Bcf in the week ending January 30, 2026, which the EIA said was 170 Bcf more than the five-year average for that week. The same episode lifted the Henry Hub spot price to $9.03/MMBtu on January 28, up $4.05 from a week earlier. For traders it was the sharpest sign of how thin the winter cushion had become.
