What it is
The BlueBird Block 2 satellites are large spacecraft that unfold in orbit to provide cellular broadband to standard phones. The network needs roughly 45 to 60 satellites for continuous coverage in key markets and about 90 for all targeted markets. The planned system is 248 satellites.
Why it matters to the stock. Satellite count and launch cadence set when the network can start paid service. A slipped launch delays revenue, and a lost satellite is a direct cost.
