What it is
Arc is an open layer-1 blockchain built for payments, real-time money movement and financial markets. Fees are paid in USDC, and the network runs on a permissioned validator set. Eleven founding validators were named at launch, including BlackRock, DTCC, ICE, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, Visa and Global Payments.
Why it matters to the stock. Arc is Circle's largest bet beyond USDC. Its success depends on whether institutions build on it and whether it drives USDC demand and new fee income.
