GE9X
FAA-certified engine for the Boeing 777X, whose entry into service has been delayed by Boeing.
What it is
The GE9X is a large wide-body jet engine built for the Boeing 777X. GE announced FAA Part 33 certification on September 28, 2020, and says it is designed for 10% lower fuel consumption than the GE90-115B.
Why it matters to the stock. The 777X is GE's largest single engine program in the wide-body market. Delays in the aircraft affect GE's engine deliveries and the timing of its services revenue.
