Altera (49% stake)

Intel sold a controlling stake in its programmable-chip unit Altera to an affiliate of Silver Lake. Intel deconsolidated Altera and kept a minority stake, which is not in Intel revenue.

Why it matters to the stock. The sale produced a gain in FY2025, which flatters reported earnings for that year. Future Altera results will not appear in Intel's revenue.
