Lam Research plans more than $3B over five years to expand its global R&D lab network

Lam Research said on August 13, 2026 it plans to invest more than $3 billion over five years to expand its global research and development lab network. The goal is to raise experiment capacity by more than 50% and shorten chip process development cycles. The company said the expansion starts in 2026 and covers its labs in the United States, Asia and Europe.
