Mercado Pago launches Mago, an AI assistant that pays bills and makes transfers

Mercado Pago announced Mago on August 13, 2026 as a new generation of the AI financial assistant it first launched in October 2025. The assistant pays boletos, sends and receives Pix payments, reviews spending and balances, and accepts voice or text commands. Every operation needs the user's confirmation, and the company says Mago does not make decisions for customers. Mercado Pago cites 17 million unique users for the assistant since its launch.
