Wegovy pill launches in the UK and UAE as US prescriptions top 265,000 a week

The Wegovy pill launched in the UAE in June and in the UK in July 2026, with early uptake described as encouraging. In the US, weekly prescriptions exceeded 265,000 in the week ending 17 July, and cumulative prescriptions passed 5 million. Novo said further launches in select markets are planned for the coming quarters.
