Shopify Tax to tax return shipping fees in the US from October 23, 2026

Shopify announced on September 25, 2026 that Shopify Tax and Tax Platform will calculate sales tax on return shipping fees in the US. The rule takes effect October 23, 2026. Merchants with US returns will need to account for the extra tax on return shipping.
