Kioxia and Sandisk start production of 10th-generation 3D flash at Kitakami Fab2
Kioxia and Sandisk said on July 2, 2026 that production of their 10th-generation 3D flash had started at Fab2 at the Kitakami plant in Japan, with the start date given as July 3. The fab previously made the companies' 8th-generation products and will scale up as the new generation ramps. Because Sandisk buys wafers from these joint-venture fabs, the ramp sets how many bits it can ship in coming quarters.
- Production start at Kitakami Fab2 (K2), effective July 3, 2026
- Fab previously produced 8th-generation 3D flash
- Output to scale up as 10th-generation products ramp
