AMD previews Helios rack, MI455X GPUs and MI500 roadmap at CES 2026
At CES 2026 Lisa Su previewed Helios, AMD's rack-scale AI platform built on Instinct MI455X GPUs and Venice EPYC CPUs. AMD also announced the Instinct MI440X for on-premises enterprise AI and said the MI500 series is planned for 2027. The release gives no shipment date for Helios, so the timing risk for the 2026 AI rack ramp stayed open.
- Helios is positioned as a rack-scale AI blueprint built on MI455X and Venice CPUs
- MI440X announced as an eight-GPU form factor for enterprise AI, with no date given
- MI500 planned to launch in 2027, claimed up to 1,000x AI performance versus MI300X
- The release does not give an availability date for Helios
