Micron lifts fiscal 2026 capex by about $5 billion to more than $25 billion

Micron raised its fiscal 2026 capital spending plan by about $5 billion to more than $25 billion, and said spending would rise further in 2027. Most of the increase is for expansion at its Tongluo, Taiwan site, plus higher construction costs at its U.S. fab projects. Investors read the larger capex plan as a risk to future supply and pricing, and it was one of the reasons cited for the stock's post-earnings drop.
