Google signs 3,590 MW power deal with Constellation, including 890 MW of nuclear upgrades

Google agreed to buy 3,590 megawatts of power from Constellation Energy across Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The package has two parts: a 20-year purchase agreement for 890 MW from upgraded nuclear units, and a 15-year supply agreement for 2,700 MW in the PJM grid that is not tied to one generator. Constellation says the deal supports more than $4.3 billion of fleet investment, and the first upgraded output is expected in 2028. For traders, it is a long-dated power commitment that backs Google's AI data-center build-out, and it follows a Bloomberg report that the two were near a deal worth $1 billion or more.
