Apple's new child safety and Screen Time features go live with iOS 27 and macOS 27
Apple made its expanded child safety features available on September 14, 2026 as part of the Screen Time update. New child accounts get a recommended set of apps, parents can approve new Safari sites, and Communication Safety now also blocks gore and violent content, including during FaceTime. The features require iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, and every device in a Family Sharing group must run the new OS versions. Apple does not give country-by-country availability.
