What it is

Apple's program to move more of its supply chain and chip production into the United States, with suppliers such as Broadcom, Amkor and GlobalWafers. It is also Apple's main answer to tariff pressure on imports.

Why it matters to the stock. Tariff policy has changed direction several times, and Apple has been paying for US capacity to protect its margins. Investor focus is on whether the spending and tariff relief offset memory-cost pressure on gross margin.
