Judge blocks GE Vernova from ending its Vineyard Wind turbine contract
On April 17, 2026, Suffolk Superior Court Judge Peter Krupp in Boston granted Vineyard Wind a preliminary injunction that stops a GE Vernova unit from terminating its contract on the 62-turbine, 800 MW project. GE says Vineyard Wind owes it about $300 million for completed work, while Vineyard Wind says it withheld payments to offset a 2024 turbine blade failure. The order is temporary, but it keeps GE on a project that has added to offshore losses in the Wind segment.
