GE Vernova and Hitachi sign MoU to explore BWRX-300 small modular reactor deployment in Southeast Asia

GE Vernova and Hitachi, Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding on March 14, 2026 to explore deploying the BWRX-300 small modular reactor in Southeast Asia. The work runs through the two companies' existing nuclear joint ventures, GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy and Hitachi GE Vernova Nuclear Energy. An MoU is an early step toward possible projects and does not by itself add to backlog.
