EIA August outlook sees US gas storage 5% above average at end-October

The EIA reported that working gas entered the April 2026 injection season at 1,906 Bcf, 4% above the five-year average. Its August Short-Term Energy Outlook forecast 3,985 Bcf at the end of October, 5% above the five-year average. For traders that cushion is the context for the low summer prices that followed.
