Salesforce sells cloud software for sales, customer service, marketing, commerce, integration, analytics and data management, and now sells AI agents (Agentforce) on top of that data. Fiscal 2026 (ended January 31, 2026) revenue was $41.5 billion, up 10%. In fiscal 2027 it bought Informatica (closed November 18, 2025), Fin (formerly Intercom, closed September 10, 2026) and Contentful. Agentforce ARR was above $1.5 billion in the quarter ended July 31, 2026, and Agentforce plus Data 360 ARR was nearly $3.9 billion. Fiscal 2027 revenue guidance is $46.1 billion to $46.4 billion.
How it makes money
Salesforce earns mostly subscription and support fees on multi-year contracts, usually 12 to 36 months, billed per seat or per consumption. Agentforce adds consumption-based AI pricing, and Data 360 charges for the data it stores and processes. Professional services make up about 5% of revenue. Current remaining performance obligation (contracted backlog that turns into revenue within 12 months) is a key number to watch. Capital returns are large: a $25 billion accelerated share repurchase, plus dividends.
