A14 (second-generation nanosheet)
Pre-production in 2027 and volume production in 2028, per the 2Q26 call
What it is
A14 uses a second-generation nanosheet transistor and is described by TSMC as another full-node step from N2. TSMC's 2Q26 call put pre-production in 2027 and volume production in 2028, with derivatives A13 and A12 scheduled for 2029.
Why it matters to the stock. A14 sets the leading-edge timetable beyond 2027. It matters for the long-term capex and margin debate more than for near-term quarters.
