What it is
TSMC's European fab project in Dresden (ESMC), aimed at automotive and industrial chips. The 2025 annual report describes the project as progressing smoothly, and the 2Q26 call referenced it again without a volume production date.
Why it matters to the stock. Dresden shows whether TSMC can serve European automotive customers at scale. It is a slower, lower-margin project than the Arizona or Taiwan leading-edge fabs.
